How we help
Changing public attitudes
roshni can never hope to end child abuse by itself. We set out to involve everybody and often work in partnership because child abuse is an issue that must be tackled. Protecting our children and young people is everyone's responsibility! Our programmes work to move beyond just addressing the impact of child abuse but seek out the root causes and identify ways to prevent abuse before a child is harmed. A key aim of our awareness raising programme is to help people appreciate that they can contribute towards breaking the cycle of abuse towards children and young people.
roshni aims to prevent the pain of child abuse from ever happening, we believe that:
- All children have the right to have their basic needs met.
- Prevention is the best way to keep children from harm.
- Child abuse prevention means strengthening families.
- Prevention is the responsibility of the individual, the family and the community.
In achieving this we:
- Visit schools and other organisations to provide on-the-spot training on both child protection and abuse issues.
- Use social marketing campaigns to spread positive messages about the power of prevention.
- Reach out to media representatives with accurate and useful information regarding prevention.
- Use technology to continually increase the reach of our messages.
- Works collaboratively with other violence prevention organisations.
We offer you long-term, one day, half day and twilight workshops. Courses are tailor-made to meet your specific development needs.
