FGM Consultation

Between August and October 2015 we engaged with a cross-section of communities potentially affected by Female Genital Mutilation to gather their views on suggested changes to the law on FGM in Scotland.  The consultation took the form of interviews and focus groups, taking place largely in the local authority areas of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen.  We gathered responses from community members on the 5 proposed changes to the law as well as their views on other ways to tackle FGM in Scotland.

Our findings were delivered to the Scottish Government in December 2015 and we expect our final report to be published very soon.
