Roshni Round Table Discussions
“Child Grooming and Sexual Exploitation”
6.00pm – 7.30pm, Monday 25th June 2012, Glasgow
Roshni would like to invite you to discuss the recent number of high profile cases highlighting the reality of abuse and sexual grooming of vulnerable children in the UK.
The media attention has generated a number of issues around ethnicity, faith, culture and gender and as a valued friend of Roshni, we would be delighted if you could join us for a discussion on Monday 25th June 2012 in Glasgow.
An ‘expert’ panel with representatives from the Scottish Government, support agencies and frontline staff will be present to engage in the discussions.
Key elements of the day would include:
• Table discussions between members of the minority ethnic communities and key stakeholders from the public, private and voluntary sectors;
• Brief presentations and feedback from the groups;
• A reflection on the guests recommendations; and
• An action prioritisation task.
The format of the evening will be as interactive and creative as possible, in order to stimulate discussion, debate and new ideas.
The event will start at 6.00pm when drinks and canapés will be served. We expect to finish by around 7.30pm.
We do hope you will be able to join us, and would be grateful if you could register online at http://roshnievent.eventbrite.com to confirm if you or a relevant colleague would be able to attend, by 5.00pm on Monday 18th June 2012.
