roshni is a registered charity with a long history of working minority ethnic communities to promote the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
roshni has developed a range of initiatives across Scotland offering culturally sensitive services to Scotland’s minority ethnic communities. Our services make contact with minority ethnic individuals of all ages via community outreach workshops and events.
We are looking to recruit male and female volunteers from across Scotland, particularly within Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Perth, to help with our projects. Volunteer roles are varied and might include: help organising and running events; outreach work within the community; running training programmes for children and young people; involvement in our befriending service; social media; as well as the general running of the organisation.
As you will be dealing with minority ethnic communities, knowledge of a second language in addition to English is preferable, but not essential. Second languages include Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Swahili and Polish.
We ask that our volunteers are able to commit on a regular basis, giving up between 2 and 4 hours of their time per month.
How to Enquire: Please email your CV and a cover letter detailing any relevant experience you may have to firstname.lastname@example.org.
