My Voice

The MY Voice project was set up in collaboration with Roshni, Dignity Alert Research Forum (DARF) and the Institute of International Health and Development at Queen Margaret University.

This project is aimed at young men and women aged 16-25, men over 25 and religious leaders across Glasgow and Edinburgh to be able to share their opinions and experience of FGM /female circumcision. This will provide them with a platform for their voices to be included in the development of support and services for people affected by FGM.

A report with the findings will be produced and it will feed into the Scottish government’s ideas for what will happen next about FGM and/or female circumcision in Scotland. This will ensure that the voices of young people and men are part of any new developments, such as training programmes, changes to the law or support services that develop as a result of this work.
